Star Wars Zero Company, a turn-based strategy game developed by Bit Reactor and Respawn, has surpassed 1 million copies sold, publisher EA announced through the game's official social channels.
The milestone arrives as the developer recovers from staffing turmoil. When Star Wars Zero Company launched earlier this year, Bit Reactor had furloughed over 80% of its staff due to sales uncertainty, keeping them as unpaid employees despite their employment status. Earlier this week, the studio announced it had begun reversing this decision.
According to Bit Reactor CEO Greg Foertsch, the rehiring effort was prompted by "unexpected business developments outside of our control" but deemed "necessary to help us eventually bring as many people back as possible." The game's sales growth appears to have enabled the studio to restore its workforce.
Star Wars Zero Company is a tactics-focused strategy title that brings the Star Wars franchise to turn-based gameplay in the style of XCOM. The game is available on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC.
