Wardogs enters Season 2 with an unconventional fix for a real problem: blue team Lonestar consistently loses more matches than the other two factions. According to PC Gamer, developer Bulkhead will offer cash and XP bonuses exclusively for players who choose Lonestar during the season, plus multipliers on teamwork cash rewards.
The imbalance extends beyond community joke territory. The Season 2 patch notes state that "one team had a notoriously lower win rate than the other two teams." Developers acknowledge concrete issues: Lonestar's uniform visibility and problematic spawn positions. Yet CEO Joe Brammer identified the biggest driver: players actively avoid joining blue because of its reputation, regardless of actual gameplay balance.
Bulkhead frames the incentive as a "social experiment" in faction balance, and it only runs through Season 2, suggesting this is a test to see if cash rewards can finally reverse Lonestar's losing streak. The approach fits Wardogs' design philosophy: a tactical sandbox where asymmetry is intentional.
