Phantom Blade Zero opens pre-orders, State of Play set for August 17

Pre-orders for Phantom Blade Zero, the action RPG from developer S-Game, are now live on PlayStation 5 and PC. According to the PlayStation Blog, the standard edition costs $59.99, with a Digital Deluxe version at $69.99 that includes exclusive in-game items and a digital soundtrack.

Sony announced a dedicated State of Play broadcast for August 17 at 7 PM PT (10 PM ET), featuring roughly 20 minutes of new gameplay footage. The stream will dive deeper into the game's combat systems, mechanics, and the dark wuxia-inspired world.

The announcement's centerpiece was revealing that action film legend Donnie Yen (Iron Man, John Wick 4) has served as creative consultant since 2023. He also provides motion capture and voice acting for Mó Yuan, the father of protagonist Soul. His martial arts expertise directly shaped the game's combat design.

Phantom Blade Zero launches October 29. The upcoming State of Play marks the game's first dedicated showcase appearance since its reveal at PlayStation Showcase 2023.
