Rockstar Games revealed this Thursday the first six in-game radio stations for Grand Theft Auto VI, along with audio previews for each. The developer stated the game will feature the "biggest and widest-ranging selection of in-game radio yet."
The revealed stations span multiple genres: Cocotea FM (modern Latin music), Back Country Radio (classic outlaw country), Afro Bank FM (African music), The Chamber 106.6 (classic metal), Flash FM (modern pop), and Dirty South Classics (old-school rap and hip-hop). Flash FM marks a return of an iconic station that debuted in the original GTA Vice City in 2002, coming back after 24 years.
For the first time in the series, GTA 6 allows protagonists Jason and Lucia to listen to radio stations and podcasts outside vehicles. According to Rockstar, by connecting headphones or earbuds to the characters' smartphones, players can access on-demand radio and podcast content while exploring Leonida. The broadcast stations feature celebrity DJs: Bad Bunny and Lana Del Rey serve as hosts for Cocotea FM and Back Country Radio respectively, while Slayer contributes members Tom Araya and Kerry King.
Rockstar confirmed these six stations are not the complete lineup, with additional stations to be revealed ahead of launch. The music selection ranges from classic rock to talk radio and new exclusive content made for the game's release.
