Star Wars Zero Company releases August 27 on Xbox

Star Wars Zero Company will launch on August 27, 2026 exclusively on Xbox Series X|S, according to Xbox Wire. The game is the debut title from Bit Reactor, a studio founded by Firaxis veterans who worked on XCOM and Marvel Midnight Suns.

It's a turn-based tactics game with RPG storytelling set during the Clone Wars era of Star Wars. Players command Zero Company, a mercenary squad led by protagonist Hawks, taking on missions across the galaxy. The game features classic genre mechanics including grid-based tactical combat and permanent death for squad members.

Multiple gaming outlets received preview builds. According to IGN, the game is approachable for newcomers to the genre while retaining depth for experienced fans. PC Gamer noted that Zero Company balances the familiar XCOM formula with influences from Marvel Midnight Suns. Polygon highlighted that creative director Greg Foertsch rejects the "tactics game" label, aiming for the title to be recognized simply as a great game without genre constraints.

There is no confirmation yet of releases on other platforms beyond Xbox Series X|S at launch.
