RuneScape: Dragonwilds is launching on Xbox Game Pass as a "day one" release on September 15, according to an official announcement from developer Jagex. This marks the first time a RuneScape title has appeared on Xbox consoles.
The game spent a year in early access on PC before its 1.0 launch. Jagex treats the release as a day one Game Pass debut because the full version launch on September 15 counts as the official debut on the subscription service, not the early access period.
A Nintendo Switch 2 edition of the game also recently launched, allowing the narrative adventure to be "played as intended," according to a statement from developer sunset visitor 斜陽過客 shared via Polygon.
The move aligns with Xbox's broader strategy of bringing new titles to Game Pass at launch, while the game simultaneously expands to Nintendo's next-generation hardware.
