Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 has arrived on Nintendo Switch 2, but it's dealing with a notable input lag problem. According to Digital Foundry's analysis cited by IGN, the input lag on the Switch 2 version can be twice as severe as on PlayStation 5 running at 60fps.
While the game targets 60fps in competitive Multiplayer matches and achieves that target most of the time, the latency issue creates what IGN describes as a "competitive disadvantage" for players on the hybrid console. Some scenarios, such as aiming through the transparent visor of a riot shield, can trigger additional frame rate drops.
This is the first Call of Duty released on a Nintendo console since Call of Duty: Ghosts in 2013, marking a significant return of the franchise to high-performance portables. Despite the technical challenge, the game remains available on the platform.
