Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls launched on August 6 for PlayStation 5 and PC and reached approximately 485,000 units sold in its opening week, according to sales estimates from Alinea Analytics reported by Adrenaline. Strong numbers for a fighting game, a genre that remains relatively niche compared to mainstream audiences.
Three-quarters of sales were concentrated on Sony's console. The PC version, meanwhile, faced criticism for performance issues, which likely contributed to the platform distribution.
The title is a 4v4 tag fighter developed by Arc System Works, creator of Dragon Ball FighterZ and Guilty Gear Strive, and published by PlayStation Publishing LLC. According to Eurogamer, it's described as one of the best tag-fighting games in years, offering easy entry for newcomers without sacrificing strategic depth in combat.
