Gears of War: E-Day's open multiplayer beta is live. According to Xbox Wire, the test runs from August 13 at 12pm PT through August 17 at 10am PT on Xbox console and PC for players with Xbox Game Pass Essential or higher, with no pre-order requirement.
The Coalition announced improvements for the second beta weekend, featuring performance fixes, a Lancer weapon buff, and Versus mode aim assist tuning. The expanded access builds on the first weekend's large turnout, which was limited to Game Pass Ultimate subscribers and those who pre-ordered.
Microsoft also unveiled two limited edition Gears of War: E-Day Xbox Wireless Controllers. Per Xbox Wire, the standard controller is available for pre-order worldwide starting today, designed with symbols and imagery inspired by Emergence Day. Starting September 30, Xbox Design Lab will let players build custom controllers with E-Day themes and elements.
Gears of War: E-Day releases in 2026. The beta is part of this weekend's Free Play Days promotion, alongside Sunderfolk and Asdivine Cross, available through August 16 for Game Pass subscribers.
