The fifth Expedition of Arc Raiders will run from September 8 to September 29, but it marks the last one before a lengthy hiatus. According to Embark Studios in an official post, the developer will "return with major improvements" to the Expeditions system, which functions as a prestige mechanic allowing high-level players to reset their progression in exchange for exclusive rewards.
The Arc Raiders community has voiced frequent complaints about Expeditions, particularly regarding accessibility for new players, tight departure windows, and the reward structure. Embark stated it reviewed player feedback and acknowledged these issues "need more than incremental fixes."
With the pause in place, the major October update called Frozen Trail will launch without an accompanying Expedition, an unusual occurrence in the game's calendar. The system is expected to return in early 2027.
