Nintendo has released two new trailers for The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake on its Japanese YouTube channel, unveiling Dark Link in action for the first time.
The first 30-second trailer opens with a cinematic scene of Ganondorf playing an organ before cutting to combat sequences. Around 16 seconds in, Link faces off against Dark Link, the iconic shadowy doppelgänger. A second trailer shows additional gameplay featuring Link, Zelda, and the ocarina itself.
According to GamesRadar, the remake maintains faithfulness to the 1998 original while introducing major changes including full voice-acted cutscenes (except for Link), a new boss rematch mode with speedrun tracking, and movement additions like a dedicated jump button and dash. Kokiri Forest has been rebuilt to feel more lived-in and grounded. A new mechanic lets Navi uncover special thoughts and secrets throughout exploration, potentially addressing the companion's intrusiveness in the original game.
The game features a Hall of Fallen Foes, a museum showcasing defeated enemies. According to Nintendo Life, retailers worldwide are announcing midnight launch events. French retailer Micromania is distributing replica PAL-edition N64 boxes as pre-order bonuses at participating locations.
The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time launches on Switch 2 on November 5.
