Star Wars: Galactic Racer excludes Anakin for canonical accuracy

Star Wars: Galactic Racer will not include Anakin Skywalker at launch, and there is a narrative reason for the exclusion. According to Matt Webster, CEO of Fuse Games, the game's story takes place after the events of the original trilogy, a period when the character is not canonically alive.

In an interview with Video Games Chronicle, Webster explained that the studio prioritized narrative accuracy: only characters who are canonically present in that era of the timeline appear in both the campaign and arcade modes. The decision reflects a commitment to the continuity of the Star Wars universe.

The game, developed by a studio featuring Burnout veterans, promises unique multiplayer modes, including a "tour" mode that combines roguelite mechanics with MOBA-inspired elements. Fuse Games has confirmed that Anakin could be added in future updates if narrative justifications emerge.

Star Wars: Galactic Racer launches soon on PC.
