It's official: Final Fantasy Resonance is now live on Xbox Series X|S and PC, with Xbox Play Anywhere support (buy once, play both). According to Xbox Wire, the game features a free demo of the full first chapter, with progress carrying over to the full purchase.
The title reimagines the story of mobile-exclusive Final Fantasy Brave Exvius into a completely rebuilt console RPG experience. It marks the first time Square Enix has applied its HD-2D hybrid visual style (high-definition pixel art) to the main Final Fantasy series, blending classic aesthetics with modernized mechanics.
The launch arrives amid operational challenges Square Enix faced this week: a critical PHP vulnerability took down Final Fantasy 14's login servers for roughly 21 hours starting October 21 before reopening following security enhancements.
