The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake for Switch 2 will require 27GB of storage space, according to a download card for the game now available in Japan. Nintendo Life and other outlets confirmed the file size from the physical packaging.
The remake becomes the largest Zelda title of the current generation by disk space. For context, Breath of the Wild requires 24GB on Switch 2, while Tears of the Kingdom takes up 20GB. Despite exceeding those titles, 27GB remains moderate compared to other major Switch 2 releases like Final Fantasy VII Remake and Rebirth, each exceeding 90GB.
The original Ocarina of Time launched on Nintendo 64 in 1998 at just 32MB, making the 2026 remake over 800 times larger in file size. The Switch 2 version arrives November 5th.
