Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 arrives October 23 on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S and Nintendo Switch 2. Oscar Lopez, multiplayer lead at Infinity Ward, revealed during Brasil Game Show 2026 that the game discontinues support for previous-generation consoles (PlayStation 4 and Xbox One) and delivers a next-gen visual leap.
The DMZ extraction shooter mode will launch early on October 20 for players who pre-order digitally, according to Infinity Ward's official announcement. The mode completely redesigns the DMZ experience from earlier Call of Duty titles.
The game introduces gameplay features like Kill Block mode and maintains 60 FPS as standard, Lopez highlighted. DMZ's overhaul includes revival mechanics with drawbacks, reshaping traditional extraction shooter dynamics.
Digital pre-orders also unlock cross-game benefits with Call of Duty: Mobile, which grants the Shattered Relay weapon blueprint as a bonus for Modern Warfare 4 reservations.
