Gameplay footage and screenshots from Grand Theft Auto 6 are circulating online this week. According to Push Square, PC Gamer, and GameSpot, the clips show protagonist Jason playing basketball at a safehouse and driving through the city while evading police.
The footage was posted by a group calling itself Cyberleek. Rockstar Games responded with DMCA takedown notices against accounts sharing the material, which suggests the leaks are authentic, as noted by GameSpot. The complete map of Leonida, the game's fictional Miami, also appeared in leaked screenshots.
Cyberleek accompanies the leaks with a manifesto listing three "Commandments" directed at Rockstar and other publishers: end digital pre-orders, eliminate single-player DLC sold separately, and preserve offline versions of single-player content in online games. Per GamesRadar, the manifesto cites franchises like The Crew, a racing game that disappeared when its servers shut down despite having a single-player mode, as an example of why games should be preserved.
The leak occurs weeks ahead of GTA 6 Extended Look, a 30-minute special slated for Netflix on August 27. Take-Two Interactive and Rockstar have not publicly addressed the leak beyond legal action.
