The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered launched on Nintendo Switch 2 this week featuring touchscreen support, mouse controls, gyro aiming, and performance optimizations including DLSS anti-aliasing. Earlier versions on other platforms still experience stuttering, frame rate instability, and crashes.
According to Bethesda, "we've heard your feedback asking for an additional patch for Oblivion Remastered." The company stated that the Switch 2 version includes "a number of optimizations that we are looking into bringing to other platforms" and will share more details when able.
Oblivion Remastered launched in 2024 with visuals rebuilt in Unreal Engine 5 across PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. The remake of the 2006 classic includes the full campaign plus expansions Knights of the Nine and Shivering Isles.
The Switch 2 release marks the first arrival on Nintendo's handheld hardware, delivering platform-specific features while working within the console's technical constraints compared to home systems.
