Microsoft unveiled a limited edition Xbox Wireless controller inspired by Gears of War: E-Day, the franchise's upcoming title launching in October. According to Xbox Wire, the design celebrates "Emergence Day" with 3D-molded details and laser-etched textures that reference the cracked concrete and striking red fissures iconic to the game's universe.
The controller will be available for pre-order starting today at participating retailers worldwide, with an official launch set for October 9. Microsoft is simultaneously reviving Xbox Design Lab with new thematic options, letting players create custom controllers featuring Gears of War: E-Day aesthetics beginning September 30.
Retailer listings indicate the limited edition controller will cost $89.99. Both the controller and Design Lab update arrive just days before the game's release on October 6 for Xbox Series X|S and PC. These accessories commemorate the symbols, scars, and battles that define humanity's war against the Locust Horde in the Gears of War universe.
