The game originated from a casual conversation in the office break room when the team was discussing the Foddian genre, a category of deliberately punishing games designed to provoke controlled frustration. One of the co-founders joked about turning the concept into a bathtub-driving experience, sparking the unlikely idea of navigating treacherous terrain from the seat of a bathtub.
What started as a quip evolved into a full rage-game experience, retaining the lighthearted tone of its origin. Elegant Horse Studios consists of three co-founders who, before launching the official studio, worked at other companies while developing indie projects like Sheep Sweep.
