Activision has confirmed that the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 beta will include, for the first time in franchise history, a playable campaign mission. According to Push Square, the mission is called Entrenched and will be accessible during the testing period.
The beta will run across two weekends: August 21-25 for those who pre-order and August 28 to September 1 for all players. GameSpot reports that the Call of Duty: Next event on August 21 will showcase the content in detail.
Beyond the campaign, per PC Gamer, the beta will feature multiplayer with five maps and, for the first time, will also include Warzone with the new Zodiac Resurgence map. The Entrenched mission follows a squad of South Korean marines (plus one embedded American) in a trench-based offensive against North Korea's invasion.
The beta will not be available on Switch 2 during early access, according to GameSpot, since pre-orders for that platform don't begin until August 28. Destructoid notes this is the most robust content a Call of Duty beta has ever offered.
