Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick indicated in recent interviews that the GTA 6: Extended Look premiere on Netflix is merely the beginning of a broader rollout of game announcements. Speaking to GamesIndustry.Biz, Zelnick described the exclusive trailer as "one of the hors d'oeuvres," followed by "appetizers, main course, and dessert."
The GTA 6: Extended Look debuts on Netflix on August 27 with a six-hour exclusivity window, sparking mixed reactions from players. Some community members criticized the move as effectively paywalling the trailer, while others questioned what the content will actually be: traditional gameplay footage, a documentary, or something entirely different.
Zelnick also told IGN that audiences will tune in regardless of the criticism, suggesting the company's confidence in the announcement's reach. The strategy marks an unconventional marketing approach in the gaming industry with no known precedent.
GTA 6 is confirmed to launch on November 19 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
