GTA 6: Take-Two breaks silence on preorders and online plans

Strauss Zelnick, president of Take-Two Interactive and parent company of Rockstar, confirmed in recent interviews that Grand Theft Auto 6 preorder numbers are unprecedented in the gaming industry. However, the company has no plans to publicly reveal the actual figures. According to Zelnick, sharing those numbers could be misleading given current sales patterns.

In a report from Bloomberg featuring journalist Jason Schreier, Zelnick stated that most preorders are skewing toward the $100 Ultimate Edition rather than the standard version. He attributed this to the fact that die-hard fans are the ones placing early reservations at this stage.

Regarding GTA 6's online mode, Take-Two remains silent. According to Schreier, the company has not discussed publicly how the new game's multiplayer will function and does not plan to reveal details anytime soon. For now, the focus is on the single-player campaign, which will not feature microtransactions in its core experience.

GTA 6 launches November 19 on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. On August 27, Rockstar will premiere an Extended Look of the game exclusively on Netflix before releasing it on YouTube.
