Helldivers 2 has arrived in the PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium Game Catalog today, according to the official PlayStation Blog announcement. The game, which sold 20 million copies since its 2024 launch, is now accessible at no additional cost to subscribers of those service tiers worldwide.
The release coincides with update 7.0, titled Devoid of Liberty. The update introduces a new hostile region called The Void, where players face mutated Illuminate enemies including the new Crusher and Wretch creatures, supported by improved SEAF reinforcements. Allied soldiers now arrive via dropship with better weapons and equipment, offering medical aid and morale boosts when saluted, shaken hands with, or hugged by players.
The update doubles the level cap from 150 to 300, adding 15 new titles unlockable every 10 levels. A Warhammer 40K crossover is also live during the same period. Sony has paired the PS Plus addition with a community challenge: 500 million enemies must be eliminated by August 18 to unlock four exclusive PlayStation avatars.
Additional titles arrive in the PS Plus catalog on August 18, including Kingdom Come: Deliverance II and Vampire Survivors.
