According to Sensor Tower, a digital intelligence firm, approximately 89% of Grand Theft Auto 6 pre-orders are for the Ultimate Edition at $100. On Xbox, that figure rises to 90%, while PlayStation 5 reaches 88.5%, per analyst Karl Kontus.
The dominance of the premium version is unprecedented. Kontus told Sensor Tower he had "never seen a 90 percent premium share before." Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick had previously confirmed to shareholders that pre-orders were heavily skewed toward the Ultimate edition, but stopped short of releasing specific figures.
Sensor Tower estimates approximately 25 million units pre-ordered so far, potentially enough to cover the game's production costs before launch. Grand Theft Auto 6 arrives in 2026 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
