Insomniac Games has confirmed that Marvel's Wolverine, the PlayStation 5 exclusive launching on September 15, will ship as a complete package on physical media. According to Jess Reiner-Reed, senior project director at the developer, during a hands-on preview event, the title will be fully contained on the disc, allowing players to experience the game from start to finish without mandatory downloads.
This distinction positions Marvel's Wolverine among the last Sony exclusives to follow this approach. The company plans to end physical media production by 2028, marking a broader shift toward digital-only releases. The confirmation arrives amid ongoing industry discussions about the future of game distribution following recent controversies.
Beyond the physical media aspect, recent previews show the game running on base PS5 at 60 FPS with Ray Tracing enabled in the standard graphics mode. The story follows Logan as he uncovers mysteries of his past within a narrative-focused adventure that still allows detours and alternative exploration paths throughout the campaign.
