Fortnite's new Override season was officially announced featuring a massive wave of crossovers with classic and contemporary gaming franchises. According to The Gamer, the launch trailer confirms characters including Pac-Man, Mega Man, Crash Bandicoot, and Spyro, alongside Cyberpunk 2077, which makes its return to the battle royale following its previous appearance in the game.
The season launch is described as one of Fortnite's most ambitious crossover events, further expanding Epic Games' already extensive roster of collaborations. The game has built a precedent as one of the most ambitious crossover games ever made, including heroes and villains from indie and triple-A franchises, but this new cycle marks a high point in terms of scale and recognition of partner titles.
Cyberpunk 2077's return to Fortnite arrives while CD Projekt Red develops a dedicated multiplayer experience for the original game and works on Cyberpunk 2, the sequel planned to include multiplayer from the ground up, unlike how 2077 was conceived.
