Grand Theft Auto 6 will take up 210 GB on PlayStation 5, according to PlayStation Game Size. Eurogamer confirms it's a massive download, even larger than Red Dead Redemption 2.
The map of Vice City and its surroundings will be nearly as large as the worlds of GTA 4, GTA 5, and Red Dead Redemption 2 combined, based on Rockstar's recent revelations to Edge magazine. Co-studio head Aaron Garbut noted that GTA 6 contains "an order of magnitude more interiors" than the developer's previous games, promising density beyond sheer scale.
Rockstar created around 600,000 animations exclusively for the game's NPCs, according to PC Gamer and GamesRadar. Non-player characters receive personality traits based on demographic and professional variables, determining how they react to situations. The complexity required an entire team of writers, directors, and producers based in Los Angeles to manage the workload.
GTA 6 launches November 19 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X and S. Pre-download begins one week earlier on November 12. Rockstar has not yet confirmed a PC release date.
