Konami announced plans to turn Silent Hill into an annual franchise. According to producer Motoi Okamoto in an interview with GamesRadar at Gamescom 2026, "our aim is to, hopefully, have an annual release of new games." The company is working on multiple unrevealed projects to support this release schedule.
Okamoto explained that the strategy involves expanding the series' settings and universes beyond its original American hometown. "If we stay laser-focused on the same American setting, that would exhaust narrative possibilities, and also potentially cause fatigue for the playerbase," the producer said. The franchise has already begun this diversification with titles like Silent Hill F, set in Japan.
The producer also sought to reassure fans about quality amid the frequent releases. "We would like to let players know that we have more experiences coming up, and many types of games that we believe will be able to provide positive kinds of surprises," Okamoto said. The next announced title is Silent Hill: Townfall, scheduled for September 24, 2026 on PlayStation 5, Steam, and Epic Games Store.
