Hideo Kojima gave his first interview since Sony dropped publishing Physint in June, clarifying details about the shift to Xbox. According to IGN, when asked whether the game would be exclusive to Microsoft's platform, Kojima stated: "That would be a question for Xbox. But I don't know for sure."
The creator of Metal Gear also disclosed that Physint's game engine has not yet been finalized. When asked about using Sony's Decima engine, Kojima indicated the decision remains open, as reported by Eurogamer. According to Pure Xbox, Xbox is not simply thinking about funding a single game, but rather investing in the Physint intellectual property, including potential adaptations for film and anime.
In remarks to GameSpot, Kojima described Sony's abandonment of the project as "a serious blow," but stated there is no ill will between the parties. He also reiterated his commercial confidence in the title, calling it "the biggest selling title I could possibly create." The transition came amid speculation about budget overruns and missed deadlines, claims that Kojima Productions disputed, asserting the studio remains in "a healthy, profitable state".
