Microsoft has responded to reports suggesting that Grand Theft Auto 6 pre-orders for PlayStation 5 are significantly outpacing those on Xbox Series X. According to circulating claims, the ratio of PS5 to Xbox pre-orders ranges between 6 to 1 and 8 to 1 in Sony's favor.
In response, Microsoft stated that Rockstar Games has received record pre-orders across Xbox platforms. The company urged the public to wait for official data before drawing firm conclusions. Neither company has released official pre-order numbers.
GTA 6 is not exclusive to any single platform, with both consoles receiving the game. However, Sony has invested heavily in marketing push during the pre-order period, which may be shaping the perception of demand differences between the two systems.
Grand Theft Auto 6 is scheduled for launch in 2025, with pre-orders having opened in June of this year.
