Phantom Blade Zero launches with record concurrent player count

It's official: Phantom Blade Zero launched today and immediately shattered records. According to Eurogamer, S-Game's title hit 431,541 concurrent players on Steam just hours after release, landing among the platform's most-played games.

The launch success confirms earlier analyst predictions. Alinea Analytics estimated the game had already surpassed 1 million pre-release sales before launch day, as reported by GamesRadar.

On the PlayStation Blog, the developer highlights that Phantom Blade Zero blends influences from soulslikes, hack-and-slash games, narrative-driven RPGs, and action games with unlockable exploration. The result is a title centered on fast combat and combo-focused gameplay, set in a devastated, supernaturally infused "Kungfupunk" world.

On PC, the game requires 145GB of storage, per PC Gamer. On PlayStation 5, Phantom Blade Zero is currently exclusive, though a physical version was announced for 2027.
