It's official: the Fable reboot has received a confirmed release date. According to Xbox Wire, the announcement came during the Xbox Games Showcase held in June 2026, marking a significant milestone for the franchise's return after years without new entries.
The reveal was accompanied by fresh gameplay footage, giving fans an updated look at the project being developed by Obsidian Entertainment. Polygon covered the event, highlighting the announcement among other showcase announcements.
The title remains in development for Xbox and PC, the platforms where the game will launch. The Fable franchise, which originally found success on Xbox consoles, returns as an exclusive to the Microsoft ecosystem, a key bet by the company in its first-party studios during this period.
