At Japan Expo, CyberConnect2 CEO Hiroshi Matsuyama sidestepped a direct answer when asked about a potential sequel to Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot. According to TheGamer, the executive was "evasive" and neither confirmed nor denied the possibility.
Meanwhile, the studio is actively developing Dragon Ball Xenoverse 3. A new gameplay demo revealed that transformations such as Super Saiyan come with notably short duration windows during combat. The mechanic drew immediate backlash, with fans expressing overwhelming disapproval and already calling for changes before release.
The Dragon Ball franchise is also facing setbacks elsewhere. Dragon Ball: The Breakers, the asymmetrical multiplayer title launched in 2022, appears to be officially dead. TheGamer noted that the game was removed from the studio's list of "active" Dragon Ball titles in a recent advertisement.
