Ghost Recon Wildlands gets Last Rites update with new mission and 4K60

Ubisoft has released the Last Rites update for Ghost Recon Wildlands this week across all platforms. According to the PlayStation Blog, the update brings a "thrilling linear story mission," gameplay customization features and, on current-gen consoles, 4K rendering at 60 FPS.

The central mission pits the Ghosts against La Llorona, a new antagonist leading a fanatic cult called Los Penitentes. The story unfolds in a darker, more oppressive setting within Bolivia, a country that sparked controversy when the game originally launched nine years ago. Per Xbox Wire, the update also marks the return of the challenging Predator hunt, which was removed in 2020.

The package is available on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and PC (Steam, Epic Games Store and Ubisoft+). According to Xbox Wire, several community-requested features have been included, including hundreds of cosmetic items now free. Game Director Benjamin Rousseau Lemaire and Live Strategy & Analytics Director Yossef Benzeghadi confirmed that player feedback shaped the content.

The launch coincides with the 25th anniversary celebration of the Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon franchise. Ubisoft has also announced the Ghost Recon Insider Program, allowing players to participate in closed tests for the next game in the series, which has been in development for years.
