Palworld approaches 1 million concurrent players on Steam following 1.0 launch

Palworld is riding a wave of renewed interest on Steam. According to SteamDB and SteamCharts data, the creature-catching survival game hit close to 961,000 concurrent players over the weekend, marking its largest spike in two years. The milestone comes less than two weeks after the game's full 1.0 release.

Prior to the version 1.0 update, Destructoid reported that Palworld averaged around 50,000 players during peak hours, despite being a two-year-old early access title. The full launch revitalized interest substantially, drawing back a player base the game hadn't seen in this volume since its initial early access debut in 2022.

John Buckley, head of publishing and communications at Pocketpair, called the numbers "mind boggling" and described the experience of Palworld's launch as "surreal and life-changing." His statement acknowledged the unexpected scale of the player response.

The achievement solidifies Palworld as one of 2024 and 2025's biggest successes on Steam, reaffirming its position among the platform's most played games.
