The Blood of Dawnwalker is receiving its first major update in early October. Game director Konrad Tomaszkiewicz confirmed to Eurogamer that the patch will introduce a new, easier difficulty option, combat reworks, and changes to escape mechanics, among other improvements.
The centerpiece is an even more accessible difficulty setting than the current Story Mode, designed for players prioritizing narrative over combat encounters. According to IGN, the existing Story Mode will be repositioned within the difficulty hierarchy to make way for the new easiest option.
Beyond accessibility adjustments, the patch includes combat system tweaks and performance enhancements. Tomaszkiewicz told Eurogamer the update is substantial, calling it "the big patch." New Game Plus has been speculated as a possible addition, though nothing has been officially confirmed on that front.
The Blood of Dawnwalker is Rebel Wolves' debut title, founded by veterans from CD Projekt Red, including Tomaszkiewicz. The update underscores the studio's commitment to expanding accessibility and replayability for its vampire action-RPG, which launched in September 2026.
