Hideo Kojima, creator of Metal Gear Solid and Death Stranding, turned 63 and marked the occasion by reflecting on his career and future priorities. According to Eurogamer, Kojima stated he wants to continue pouring energy into game creation.
In social media posts, Kojima acknowledged a core challenge: as he ages, both the things he "has to do" and "wants to do" increase, while available time decreases. "I constantly need to reassess how I use my time and how I live my life," he wrote, per IGN.
Despite third-party interest in film adaptations and other opportunities, Kojima made clear his intent to remain focused on game development. As GamesRadar reported, the creator has projects underway including OD and Physint, alongside collaborations such as the Death Stranding anime series and A24 films.
The birthday also marks Kojima's approaching 40th year in the video game industry, a journey that began four decades ago with Metal Gear.
