Assassin's Creed Shadows Gets Its Final Update on June 16

June 15, 2026 · 1 min read · Notering

According to the PlayStation Blog, Assassin's Creed Shadows will launch its final update on June 16, marking the end of post-launch support for the feudal Japan-set action game. The update includes a new main story chapter in which protagonists Naoe and Yasuke face off against a mysterious pair of Templars who have sailed to Japan.

Beyond the narrative, the update introduces Domains, a new endgame feature that functions as a challenging arena where players test their skills and gear builds. The feature was designed, according to Associate Game Director Simon Lemay-Comtois, to break players' preferred gear constructions, offering meaningful late-game progression.

Ubisoft had previously confirmed that Shadows would end its support cycle following months of declining updates and just one major post-launch expansion (Claws of Awaji). The new chapter carries particular weight for Yasuke's story arc, which needed narrative closure after the Naoe-focused expansion earlier. The update also includes a cosmetic allowing players to dress as Edward Kenway, protagonist of the upcoming Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced.
