Ubisoft has confirmed that it will unveil news about the Ghost Recon franchise next month, timed with the series' 25th anniversary celebration. According to PC Gamer and Polygon, the official announcement will arrive on August 6, with the message "We know some of you saw some updates" apparently acknowledging the leaks already circulating about the franchise.
Even before the official reveal, images spotted on the Xbox Store have already hinted at what's coming. Per Push Square and Pure Xbox, an enhanced version of Ghost Recon Wildlands (2017) appears to be in the works, boasting support for 4K resolution and 60 frames per second, a notable improvement given that the original has remained locked at 30FPS on Xbox consoles since its 2017 debut.
The leak also mentions a "major update" paired with a new mission titled Last Rites. Ubisoft has not yet officially confirmed these details.
The Ghost Recon franchise is in a period of flux, with Ubisoft having previously stated that new entries are in development without committing to near-term release windows. The August 6 announcement should clarify the company's roadmap for the series moving forward.
