Bloodwoven has been announced as the next project from the director of Blood West, developer Hyperstrange. According to PC Gamer and Rock Paper Shotgun, the game is a survival immersive sim that unfolds in a polar region, but the land you traverse is actually the decaying corpse of an ancient, forgotten god.
You play as native tribesmen born into this world through massive blood-pods. However, something has malfunctioned with those pods, and they now spawn unholy creatures. The premise blends survival mechanics with the design flexibility that defines immersive sims, offering multiple approaches to tackle the challenges ahead.
Blood West, released in 2023, was well-received as an indie action shooter that reframed Stalker's formula in a dark Western setting. Since then, Hyperstrange has kept supporting the game with expansions, including the recent roguelike DLC Scavengers. Bloodwoven represents the studio's next creative venture.
