Fallout 76 launches Public Test Server on Xbox Series X|S

Fallout 76's first Public Test Server dedicated to Xbox Series X|S is now live. According to Xbox Wire, Xbox Insiders who own the game or have access via an active Game Pass subscription can join the test starting today to experience upcoming updates before they go live.

The PTS brings 60 FPS support on both platforms, 4K resolution (on compatible displays) on Xbox Series X, and Variable Refresh Rate (VRR) support on compatible displays for both consoles. The update marks a native optimization for Xbox Series hardware, allowing Bethesda Game Studios to utilize the platform's capabilities more efficiently.

The public test initiative is positioned as a key step toward making Fallout 76 feel more comfortable to play across all console hardware. Community feedback from public servers like this helps identify technical issues before wider deployment.
