IO Interactive has released the first content update for 007 First Light as a free patch. According to Push Square, the update introduces new missions to TacSim, the game's tactical training mode.
The update marks the beginning of planned Year One content for the James Bond espionage title. According to Adrenaline, IO Interactive also removed Denuvo, the anti-piracy protection system that had been implemented days before launch and generated backlash from the community.
Denuvo faced criticism from PC players, who claim the DRM impacts performance. The removal comes roughly two months after launch, a relatively short timeframe given that the protection has become increasingly ineffective against cracks developed by piracy groups.
According to Flow Games, should a sequel to 007 First Light be developed, IO Interactive should take on the project, following clarifications from an Amazon Games executive about the future of the Bond franchise.
