Capcom's first-quarter 2026 financial report reveals Pragmata as an unexpected commercial success. The new action game, launched in April, has already surpassed 2.5 million copies sold across all platforms according to Eurogamer and PC Gamer.
The strong performance has prompted Capcom executives to signal plans for a continuation. According to GamesRadar, Yoshikazu Shimauchi, the company's head of finance and PR, stated that the likelihood of a Pragmata sequel is high, citing both the sales figures and the appeal of protagonist Diana.
Pragmata is a third-person shooter inspired by 2000s and 2010s game design, blending shooting mechanics with QTE-driven hacking sequences. The successful launch marks a rare win for an original IP in a market typically dominated by established franchises.
The result highlights a particularly strong year for Capcom, which also recorded solid numbers with Resident Evil Requiem, already at 8 million copies sold in the same period. The company's commercial momentum exceeded analyst expectations and positioned Pragmata as a potential franchise contender.
