WayForward has officially confirmed the seventh Shantae game during Anime Expo, with a planned release in 2027. The developer had previously mentioned work on the title last year, and now brings the official announcement along with a new teaser image for the franchise.
The game continues the series' tradition of action-adventure gameplay blending platforming with exploration mechanics. Specific platform details, story information, and gameplay features have not yet been disclosed by WayForward.
The Shantae series has built a dedicated fanbase since its original launch, with subsequent titles expanding on the core formula. This marks the first major new entry since Shantae: Risky's Revenge Director's Cut.
