Final Fantasy VII Revelation Will Feature Level Cap 99 and Optional Weapons Bosses With Unique Narratives

June 14, 2026 · 1 min read · Notering

Confirmed during Summer Game Fest 2026 coverage, Final Fantasy VII Revelation arrives with significant changes compared to the previous two entries in the remake trilogy. The game will allow players to reach level 99 without caps, a notable departure from Final Fantasy VII Remake and Rebirth.

According to director Naoki Hamaguchi in interviews with international media, Weapons bosses will receive new treatment. Some will be integrated into mandatory main story progression, while others will appear in specific map regions as optional content — returning to the approach of the original 1997 game. Optional Weapons will also feature dedicated narrative components, expanding their role within the story.

Adrenaline reports that Revelation will include the largest post-game content of the trilogy, offering more activities and challenges after main campaign completion. Hamaguchi also confirmed in conversation with IGN that the trilogy's ending was planned from the project's inception, structuring the entire narrative across all three titles.
