It's official: BioEden is a new 4X strategy game that flips the traditional formula on its head. Instead of explore, expand, exploit, and exterminate (the genre's four pillars), the title shifts focus to ecological restoration and regeneration.
Confirmed by Xbox Wire, BioEden is set in a post-apocalyptic future inspired by solarpunk ideals, a speculative movement imagining a hopeful world powered by renewable energy and ecological balance. Humanity has expanded into space, and colonization is overseen by the Collective, a political assembly made up of rival space-faring guilds. On Earth, now inhospitable, most animal species are extinct.
The Collective's mission is to coordinate the guilds' efforts to revive the life that has been lost, regardless of whether the cause was climate collapse or ancient civilizations. For them, only recovery matters.
The game arrives in 2026 for Xbox and PC.
