Rockstar Games broke its silence Wednesday regarding the flood of GTA 6 gameplay leaks that have dominated the internet since early last week. In an official statement, the company described the situation as "heartbreaking for our team" and warned that "the intended game experience may now be impacted by some spoilers".
The company also took the opportunity to apologize for the extended development timeline and delay in officially revealing the game. "We know that many of you have been waiting to hear from us. We are very sorry that everything has taken as long as it has," Rockstar said in its statement.
The leaks involved multiple gameplay videos from an apparent development build, released by an individual or group identifying itself as "Cyberleek." The videos showcased details of Vice City, characters including Lucia, and other scenes from the game, potentially undermining the original experience Rockstar had planned.
Rockstar reaffirmed that GTA 6 remains on track for its November 19, 2026 launch date. The company is set to showcase an official "Extended Look" at the game during a Netflix exclusive event on Thursday, after weeks of buildup.
