Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Wildlands has received an official technical upgrade for next-gen consoles. Per Push Square, the PS5 version now supports native 4K at 60fps, along with 3D audio, DualSense haptic feedback, and faster SSD loading. On Xbox Series X|S, the update arrived with similar visual improvements.
The package includes the Last Rites update, launched as part of Ghost Recon's 25th anniversary celebrations. According to GamesRadar, the new mission brings mechanical changes requested by the community since 2017, notably the option to equip only one primary weapon without requiring ghost mode, a loadout previously locked at two weapons regardless of player preference.
Ubisoft also signaled a new mainline Ghost Recon game is in development. Rock Paper Shotgun reported that live producer Irina-Gabriela Popa described the project as "a fun, fresh experience that stays true to everything that defines Ghost Recon: tactical action, large scale operations, credible military storytelling and, of course, the Ghost Unit." The studio plans to open playtests for the title soon.
Ubisoft additionally handed out a free copy of Ghost Recon Future Soldier, adding to the momentum around the franchise on its quarter-century milestone.
