According to Xbox Wire, Microsoft has begun rolling out the Xbox App to VIDAA OS-powered smart TVs, including select Hisense models, as part of its effort to expand access to gaming beyond traditional consoles. The company is gradually expanding availability as updates roll out to more devices and regions.
With a compatible TV and controller, Xbox Game Pass subscribers can stream hundreds of games directly to their television. The available library varies by region, device, and Game Pass plan tier. Examples highlighted include Forza Horizon 6 and Halo: Campaign Evolved.
A key feature is cross-device progress sync: players can start a game on one device and pick up where they left off on another. Subscribers can also stream games they own that fall outside the Game Pass catalog.
The expansion reflects Microsoft's goal of offering gaming options for players who cannot afford or justify purchasing dedicated gaming hardware. Rollout will continue gradually, with support reaching additional TV models and markets over time.
