According to Push Square, third-party resellers are charging as much as $1,300 for the device, a substantial markup over its official $900 price. The few retailers still holding inventory are maintaining similarly inflated prices as demand far outpaces supply.
The sellout is particularly notable given an ongoing boycott campaign against PlayStation, where players are planning to keep their consoles unplugged indefinitely in protest of Sony's recent decisions. Yet the demand generated by anticipation for GTA 6's launch, scheduled for September 25, 2026, has proven stronger than organized pushback against the company.
